WEEK 3 (Friday Schedule)

Field Trip 1: de Kooning@MoMA in Manhattan. 1st Attendance. Handout: today's schedule, the midterm practice, the sketchbook assignment, and the glossary (for blogs, exams, and group critiques). On-site paragraph writing based a quote in the exhibition. Touring basic artist names in School of Paris and NY School: Picasso, Cezanne, Matisse, Pollock, and Barnett Newman. 2nd Attendance. Writing submission. The "Talk to Me" design exhibit. 3rd Attendance. Announcements for homework projects, the following Columbus Day holiday, the midterm review, and the midterm. Checking a few color wheels.

Homework WEEK 3
Paint three eggs under the sunlight only with black and white. Include appropriate objects in your frame such as a patterned table clothe, cups, bottles, flowers, etc, to create a nicely constructed view. Make the image CONTEMPORARY by adding one more thing. DO NOT ADD COLOR BUT COLLAGE IS ALLOWED. Upload a photo of your painting on your blog and explain your process in a few paragraphs by 9:15AM on Friday, Oct 7.

A) Attend the 911 opening on Saturday, 9/10 at 5pm on the 5th floor of LaGCC E-building.

B) Start a blog on Blogger.com
1. Create your profile under "About."
2. 1st writing on the 911 show (50+ words) with a picture that you took.

C) Get art materials and bring all of them to the class at 9:15AM on Sept 16.
