REMINDER: Friday, Dec. 9, Art-in-NY Studio Visit.

Dear students in Art-in-NY.

Just a friendly reminder that we are meeting at 9:45AM on Fri., Dec. 9th, 2011, in an Asian artist's Studio in Brooklyn. The address is: [check your email for details]. Please bring your sketchbook, drawing pencils, and a camera. She is a Japanese Folk Painting artist whom I discussed last week. I posted materials from my last lecture on the History of Japanese Painting on blackboard. More info is here.

This studio visit event was created in response to our student survey, in which students wrote they wanted a special field trip, not a "museum" that they can visit on their own. Our Asian artist can speak English but not very fluent, so I will translate if necessary.

Please take this End-of-the-Semester Survey now for the online component of this course [2-3 mins].

The class voted for "no oral presentation" for the final project, so we will have NO ORAL, but I still need your interview report. Please read the course blog for details and assignment guideline in particular.

Final Tips: I updated my blog post with the info for Pratt and Hunter Art events. Also, on Thursday, Dec. 8th, there will be various galley exhibition openings in Chelsea 6-8pm. I am probably attending Ronnie Bass at I-20 Gallery, 557 West 23rd Street, 6-8pm. If you are in Queens, the Chocolate Factory is hosting a free performance art event on Tues. Dec. 6, 2011 7PM. Artists expect you to talk to them at those events.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Wish you are having a great weekend,

NK
